Summary: Collection consists of records from the Contemporaries Art Gallery, including financial documents, letters, photographs, scrapbooks, and a guest register. There are individual files for many of the artists who exhibited at the gallery, such as Thomas F. Hamill, Louise Gathers, Eli Levin, Robin Bright, Bobbie Creeley, Richard Register, Charlene Craighead, Norman Zammitt, Nina Holland, and William Vaughan Howard. These files contain correspondence between the artists and gallery owner Lucile Horsley, as well as promotional pamphlets and newspaper clippings concerning their exhibits. Three scrapbooks, one for each year the gallery was open, contain promotional materials, clippings, and photographs of artists and exhibits. Also within the collection is a transcript of a 1965 interview with Lucile Horsley discussing the Contemporaries Art Gallery.
